Must-See Attractions in and Around Seven Mile Beach

When you are browsing through Caribbean locations to live in, it can be overwhelming. There is a multitude of locations you could choose from, all of which are worthy candidates for hosting you and your future new home. However, there is only one location in particular that stands above the rest: the Cayman Islands.

The Cayman Islands are some of the most spectacular islands in the Caribbean to either visit or live in, as they have numerous admirable qualities: unique culture, diverse and delicious food, kind people, nearly perfect weather, award-winning beaches, and so much more. The archipelago has three islands: Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman. While all three have unique characteristics and are wonderful options to live on, most foreigners tend to opt for Grand Cayman.

Grand Cayman is the most populous of the three islands and is the largest in geographical size as well. It holds the capital city, which is George Town, but there are numerous beautiful places to live on Grand Cayman. One place stands out amongst the many, however: Seven Mile Beach. There are always Seven Mile Beach condos for sale that are worth investigating, no matter what your preferences are or what your budget may be, especially when you work with us at Crighton Properties. However, before you begin the purchasing process, let’s have a look at what you can look forward to prior to moving in: attractions.

The Cayman Islands are known for their natural beauty, from sea to land. There are numerous places that you can go throughout the islands, but there is plenty to see just in Seven Mile Beach and its surrounding area alone!

When you live in Seven Mile Beach, you will be pleasantly surprised to see the numerous exciting attractions that are nearby, ones that you will want to visit time and time again. Let’s have a look at several must-see attractions that are in and near Seven Mile Beach.

The beach at Seven Mile Beach “naturally” had to be the first on our list of natural attractions. You might be imagining a pristine, white sand beach with glistening, crystal clear waters, and you’re right-- but it’s somehow even better than that.

This beach has received awards for its beauty alone, both on the Caribbean and international scales. Seven Mile Beach was named the 12th best beach in the entire world by MSN, while also being classified as the fourth-best beach in the Caribbean. Needless to say, it’s one you would never get tired of seeing and experiencing day in and day out when living there.

If you are looking for a more unique natural attraction nearby, then you certainly got that covered with Hell. You can “go to Hell,” which is actually a special phenomenon that can easily remind one of what “hell” might look like: black jagged peaks jutting out from the ground.

These peaks are actually made of natural salt and limestone deposits, dating back to 24 million years ago. It’s only a short drive from Seven Mile Beach and can be a fun and quirky excursion, as it also has plenty of souvenirs for sale at their gift shops. Fortunately, you won’t have to stay forever and can leave anytime you like!

The Cayman Turtle Centre is a world-renowned attraction beloved by locals and tourists alike-- actually, about 300,000 visitors per year! It is a conservation facility that has a wide range of exciting, well-maintained, and informative exhibits. This center, which is just a ten-minute drive from Seven Mile Beach, can entice any visitor, as it has various events and other activities such as:

The Green’s Breeder Pond: an exhibit that offers visitors unique viewings of Green Sea Turtles in their natural habitat where they live, swim, breed, and even lay their eggs.
Turtle Touch Tanks: visitors get the opportunity to see turtles up close and even (safely) touch them
Smiley’s Croc Cave: an exhibit for visitors to admire saltwater crocodiles in both saltwater and freshwater compartments
Turtle Lagoon: jump into the lagoon at the Cayman Turtle Centre and swim alongside the Green Sea Turtles while snorkeling and admiring the sealife
Guided Tours: the Centre offers visitors two guided tours, one of just the Turtle Park or one of the entire Centre.

Right nearby the Cayman Turtle Centre is Dolphin Discovery, a beautiful location where visitors can swim with dolphins! Not only can you swim with dolphins here, but you can also indulge in other unique activities with these beautiful animals, such as kisses, hugs, and fast belly rides.

Not only do you get to play with dolphins, but you will learn more about them from the most knowledgeable marine mammal specialists. They will teach you fun facts about dolphins along with how they are cared for at Dolphin Discovery prior to your fun activities with the dolphins!

West Bay also has its very own national park. Barkers National Park is a combination of stunning natural beauty: long sandy beaches amongst dense mangroves. It is a stunning place to simply relax on the beach, which is usually not very busy, or indulge in other activities.

Along with relaxing, you could watch the exotic birds that live there. There are plenty of beautiful species to admire here, such as egrets and herons. You could also kick it up a notch and opt for more exhilarating experiences, like kite surfing or snorkeling. No matter what you choose to do at this gorgeous beachy national park, you will be enamored with its beauty and never want to leave!
